LOCAL ARTIST JAN RIMERMAN SHOWS WORK AT TRAINER’S CLUB DURING MAY. Rimerman uses mixed media to create thought-provoking pieces that present something fresh each time you view them. As many as 22 layers of paint are applied on top of the initial foundations of charcoal, crackle and molding paste. The layering creates a three-dimensional quality and reveals hidden images that change in different light during the progression of the day and season.
Jan’s artistic inspiration comes from growing up in the Pacific Northwest and traveling the world, including Europe, China, Africa, Indonesia and South America. She attended school in London, England and at Willamette University.
Working in her studios in West Linn, Oregon, and on Orcas Island, Washington lends a Northwest flavor to the images. The studio on Orcas Island is open to the public during the Orcas Artists Studio Tour August 14, 15 & 16, 2015.
Please feel free to come to Trainer’s Club to see Jan’s work and find out more about the artist. Trainer’s Club is open every weekday until 9pm and weekends until 7pm. Located at 333 S.
