New classes and radios!

Hi everybody.  The fall rains have begun, sort of, and football is in full swing.  Go Beavers, go Ducks!  This is one of my favorite times of the year, I love the cooler and sunny fall weather.

I am sending this blog to update you on a few new things happening at the club.

We are phasing out the radios on the cardio equipment because they are failing and cannot be repaired.  The newer, round version of the radios are a poor design and not very good quality.  So, after talking to members, staff and trainers, I decided to buy portable digital radios for members to use while working out.  These radios are pre-programmed to pick up the TV’s and have a clip so that you can attach them to your clothes while your work out.

With these radios you can listen to stations or the TV’s anywhere in the club without being tethered to a cardio machine!  They come with ear buds and lanyards and you can use any other style of head phones you like.  Simply check one out on your way in and put it in the basket on your way out.  We have new ones to purchase for $25 if you want to own one.

Please let me know if you have problems, or comments, I like to hear from you.

We have some new classes available this fall.  Zumba! is back, Cheryl our massage therapist and yoga instructor has been trained and certified to teach Zumba!  This exciting dance class tones and sculpts your body to Latin and International rhythms.  Zumba utilizes the principles of fitness interval training and resistance training to maximize caloric output, fat burning and total body toning.  Fun and easy to learn!

Cheryl is excited to get going, the class times are Tuesday and Thursday at 8AM, no registration required.

Kickboxing is also back with a new instructor.  Our newest group leader, Tate, is now teaching Kickboxing on Wednesday’s at 5PM.  It is great fun, you will learn basic kicks, punches and blocks that use muscles all over your body and burn lots of calories.

We now have a new evening Pilates mat class on Wednesday’s at 5:30 with Portland Pilates owner, Danita! Pilates will restore spinal alignment, improve muscle endurance, balance and focus, and reduce stress.  And did we mention core strength? These multi-level mat classes provide a full body workout.   This will be a popular class!

Thanks for taking the time to read this blog.  We appreciate you as members and want you to use the club, after all it is yours.  If you have friends you think would like to experience Trainer’s Club, by all means bring them in, we would love to have them try out the club.
