Southwest Portland Acupuncture, LLC
Michelle holds a masters degree from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, Oregon, with two further years of classical Chinese Medicine education from the Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences in British Columbia. There, she learned to read Mandarin in order to study Chinese medical books in their original language. She has been practicing with a focus in women’s health since 2009.
Although she specializes in women’s health, she also enjoys treating a wide range of complaints and working with patients of all ages. Her patients report relief from pain of all types, better sleep, recovery from numbness and neuralgias, help with fertility issues, and relief from stress-related conditions, such as anxiety and insomnia.
Michelle has a background in research and psychopharmacology, and is excited to be a clinical researcher in a study addressing the effects of acupuncture on pain experienced by women after recovery from breast cancer. She believes that Oriental Medicine offers the medical spectrum viable options for patient care, and feels that research is an important part of acupuncture’s inclusion in the medical world.
Michelle informs her practice with a fascination with herbal medicine, her interest in internal medicine and women’s health in particular, a lifelong love of exercise and dance, and a deep belief in the importance of eating wholesome nutritious foods, grown locally. She is an avid gardener, and enjoys cooking what she grows for her friends and family. She chose to live in Portland for its amazing combination of a beautiful natural environment and rich art and food scene.
She looks forward to treating you.
