Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy

The name is formed by “Ashi” (foot) and “atsu” (pressure) and is a sole-ful new twist on the ancient healing art of Ashiatsu massage from Asia. Developed by Ruthie Hardee of Colorado, Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy (Ashi) combines barefoot Swedish massage with oil, sustained deep compression, and myofascial release techniques with the addition of bars on the ceiling. The therapist grips the parallel bars overhead for balance and leverage while using body weight and feet to deliver ” the deepest and most luxurious massage on the planet! ” This Western spin on barefoot massage has many benefits: to improve posture, treat spinal problems, release tight shoulders, hips and hamstrings, relieve pain, release toxins, & calm the nervous system. Ashi combines the deepest massage in a most gentle manner – a therapeutic bodywork modality of power and grace. So get off your feet and relax under mine…give this sole-ful healing therapy a try!

Tui Na Massage

Tui Na is the Chinese style of massage. Similar to deep tissue massage in the amount of pressure applied, it also includes a variety of techniques such as jostling and rocking to improve joint mobility. Tui Na also combines the use of meridian lines and acupoints along the body to improve functionality of the associated organs. This style of massage can be very beneficial for chronic pain, injuries, decreased range of motion in joints, and for conditions like Frozen Shoulder.

Fangotherapy is the use of mud or clay for healing purposes. Each has its own specific properties, such as pain relief, anti-inflammation, detoxification, analgesic, and stimulating circulation. Clay is more “drawing” than mud which makes it good for detox and for drawing bacteria or impurities from the body. Mud is full of sulfur which is great for decreasing inflammation and pain.

A Fangotherapy session consists of applying the clay or mud to either the back, stomach, thighs, lower legs, upper arms, forearms, or the hands and feet. While the product sits the client will receive massage in the areas not being treated by the fango. The client has the choice of mud or clay, if they would like an essential oil added in, and which area of the body will be treated by the fango product. Hands and feet are combined if chosen.

Aromatherapy Body Wraps

Aromatherapy Body Wraps are one of the oldest of spa treatments; they can be dated back as far as the Egyptians. Using essential oils with the body wrap is a great way to detoxify the body and to absorb the benefits of the essential oils. Other benefits from a body wrap include decreasing muscle tension, increasing circulation, decreasing fatigue, and increasing relaxation.

The body wrap consists of the aromatherapy cream being applied to the entire body and a Swedish massage. Once the cream is applied, the client is wrapped up in sheets and blankets with a heating pad if desired. While the client sits in the wrap, a foot and scalp massage is given. The client has the choice of which essential oil is used. Aromatherapy can also be added into any regular massage.

Exfoliation of Hands/Feet

Exfoliation of Hands/Feet is the use of sugar or salt and oils to gently scrub the skin to remove dead skin cells, clean the pores, and improve skin health. There is also dry exfoliation which does not include the sugar, salt, and oil mix. Exfoliation also increases circulation to the treated area.

Exfoliation is added in with a massage session and performed at the end. The client has the choice of sugar or salt, which essential oil they would like added in, and whether they want hands, feet, or both exfoliated.
