Jeanne enjoys creating a companion treatment in tandem with a club trainer to help clients gain the full benefits of working out at Trainer’s Club. New Treatments Available
at In Balance Spa & Therapies
Spa Services & Massage Modalities:
Ayurvedic Face & Scalp Massage – A therapeutic treatment that leaves one feeling energized, deeply cleansed and moisturized. Includes aromatherapy, with a relaxing scalp, neck and shoulder massage.
Aromatherapy – Aromatherapy is a technique that uses essential oils, with their concentrated healing properties to address both physical & emotional healing. The aroma of essential oils can address the muscular system, lift our mood, ease anxiety or depression, soothe and stimulate the immune system. A selection of oils will be available for your unique needs at the time, and will be integrated throughout the massage with application and atomizers.
Sports Massage – A preventative and therapeutic treatment. It works specifically with sports injuries and ailments and can include pre- and post event massage.
Rolfing (Structural Integration) – Also known as structural integration, this is a deep myofascial technique that is designed to help align the body in gravity while increasing overall energy and flexibility. It is most often performed in a series of 10 sessions, which progresses from superficial to core facials tension. For more in-depth information, please visit www.rolf.org.
Muscle Focus – A focused treatment, when you need just your back worked on, or your legs need some extra attention after a hard workout.
Deep Tissue Release – A massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. It breaks down adhesions to relieve pain and restore normal range of motion.
Craniosacral Therapy – A gentle, non-invasive style of bodywork that releases tension and restriction in muscles, joints and all body systems. It helps improve range of motion, hasten recovery from injury, increase immune function and create mind/body relaxation.
Healing Stone Massage – A powerful unique therapy that works in harmony with various massage techniques & water-heated basalt river stones of varying sizes, to relax your body to its deepest level. The direct penetrating heat in concert with the healing energies of the stones, allows the muscles to relax sooner & deeper. The healing stone experience relieves pain, promotes physical serenity and will bring a sense of “grounding” balance and peace to a tired, tight or tense body.
Zen Shiatsu, TuiNa and Qigong – Traditional Chinese Medicine techniques are applied to balance the energy of the body and stimulate natural healing powers. These therapies are used to relieve stress, fatigue and pain. They help maintain and improve muscle tone and healthy internal organ function as well as strengthen the immune system.
Swedish Massage – Swedish massage increases range of motion, improves muscle function, and clears toxin build-up. It improves circulation and rejuvenates the body all while creating a deep relaxing sensation for the mind and body.
Barefoot Bliss – Experience a luxurious hour long foot treatment. You will start with a warm water soak. Then pick one of several scents or pick unscented to start off your soothing salt scrub. Soak again then relax even more with a moisturizing foot and lower leg massage.
Trigger Point Therapy – Extremely effective style of bodywork that reduces taut and sensitive muscle fibers that have a distinct pain referral pattern causing tight muscles and joints. This is a very beneficial tool to help address those ‘problem areas’ & nagging pains that just don’t seem to go away.
Frequently Asked Questions:
How do I schedule a massage?
Call, stop by the desk or send us an e-mail. Staff will let you know when specific therapists work and schedule your appointment. We offer a 25-minute, 50-minute or 80-minute massage.
Do I need to do anything special before or after a massage?
There are no hard and fast rules. We suggest that you come early so you have time to fill out paperwork and get changed without feeling rushed. Feel free to sit in the steam room or sauna for a few minutes. You can also shower if you prefer. After the massage you can also steam, sauna or just relax in the locker room. Your therapist will offer you cool water to drink, or they can get you a cup of tea or coffee. Take your time, shower if you prefer and then be sure and drink plenty of water throughout the day. This helps clear any toxins that were released during your massage.
I prefer deep work, is that offered here at Trainers Club?
Yes, we have several therapists that offer deep tissue massage. We also have a trained Rolfer and therapists that offer body rock massage. When booking your massage, let the desk know what you are looking for.
Do I have to be a club member?
No you do not, but as a member you receive a 15% discount. Members and non-members have full use of the club before or after their massage. This includes a terry robe when you arrive, towels, saunas, steam, showers, locker and much more.
Do you have gift certificates?
Yes, we do. Members receive a 15% discount, but anyone can purchase or receive a gift certificate.
I have never received a massage, do I have to disrobe completely?
This is your time to relax and be pampered, so it is important to be as comfortable as you can be. You may undress to your comfort level. You are given a terry robe when you arrive, and you have the privacy of the room to yourself when getting on and off the table. While on the table you are draped with a sheet at all times. Let your therapist know if you ever feel uncomfortable.
How can light or gentle bodywork get the tension out and be effective in relaxing tight muscles?
Sometimes a tight muscle does not want to be pushed on. By not using force, gentle energy can go very deeply into the body without triggering a tight muscle to fight back. The tight muscles will then ‘let you in’ and respond by relaxing, lengthening and re-aligning.
